If you’ve been here for any length of time you know that I’m a fan of everything Vera has ever written, and Plucked is no exception. Vera really has a beautiful magic with her words, setting the scene so beautifully and describing places and feelings with so much depth. It’s pretty short so it’s a quick read and more than worth your time.

This story originally appeared in the (now out of print / unavailable) Monsters in Love: Volume 2 Lost in the Dark monster romance anthology, published in 2022.
